Hours will vary depending on what clients you're on. Pay will be competitive with the market. Could be a bit less than your regional firm if regional pays a premium to attract employees. Exit ops are way better from B4. No comparison there.
Mainly because your access to SOX filers and SEC reporting will be much greater at B4 than at a regional firm (do regional firms even have any SOX filers?). You'll get exposure to Fortune 500 clients which is likely non-existent at your regional firm. That makes a big difference when you're looking at exit ops. B4 is a trusted brand and well respected throughout the profession.
Best way to go is to go mid tier first two years, gain exposure to more areas of the audit, then switch to B4 as a senior to round out resume and gain SOX and SEC experience.
B4 is a bit of double edge sword - like Manager 1 mentioned you can be exposed to F500 companies with plenty of complexities, SOX audits, etc. Those engagements also mean you're doing one area of the audit all year. If you're in charging treasury, you'll know everything there is to know about debt, cash, derivatives, etc. But you won't have time nor ability to do any work around revenue rec or the new lease guidance. It takes much longer for you to put together the big picture whereas at regional firms you probably have less complexities so you touch more FSLI's. Regardless, I agree with Manager 1, having B4 on your resume definitely gives it a boost
