The press releases on their website dont show a win since 2022. The work can't be that hard.

funny

I was an extern there in NY during law school. It seems pretty easy. Most people came from mid/senior level associate positions at biglaw firms doing securities work. The pay is okay and the hours seemed very chill - probably a true 9-5.

like

It’s fine. Low stress mostly. Decent pay for the work compared to most government work (in line with SEC).

But the new management is pushing volume/speed over interesting/impactful work, so it’s very much become a job as a the securities version of a traffic cop. And terribly bureaucratic, in part because it’s an organization everyone hates for their own inconsistent reasons.

I would only consider it if you are in the North East or DC. It’s a very regionally biased culture and your opportunity is very limited everywhere else (and the pay is worse everywhere else as well). Pay can get decent in upper management if you can make it.

Anyone know what the pay is like?

I’m an FA at ML, been in the role for 1 year and 8 months, but have 23 years of industry experience. Quarterly, I have a performance review call with my Market Executive and until today never heard anything negative… my growth is slower than I’d like and definitely I’m sure that’s why, but today he said last time “they” wanted to give me a letter of education and he talked “them” out of it. First of all, who is “they” / “them” and what would the letter of education be for? Any thoughts?

Hi Everyone,
I need your views and suggestions. I have two doubts:
1. Is it fair to leave an organisation (big brand) after a year as the environment is real toxic and there’s no career growth as well in terms of good work.
2. If I have to make a switch do I really have to target big brands only or can try for medium and small size companies too.

I can get 300+ maybe up to 400-450k TC in FAANG but not liking technical stuff anymore.

I’m thinking of trying DDV at PwC as I’ve always been interested in M&A integration, but am unsure on carry over of skills and also would like to go somewhere I can be bumped to Manager as I was almost there prior to leaving industry. I know they are on a hiring spree so would coming in as a Manager be possible? I’ve previously been on M&A audit/AAS engagements.

I work in a firm that is known for litigation defense. I’ve been developing my own plaintiffs practice as well. I am able to pay the bills with my hourly defense work, which gives me time to focus on a handful of high value PI case a year on contingency.
