I don’t work for QS but with them quite often.
It depends on your profile. And there is no clear cut. Some spend 100% in the back office, actually coding, etc. Some spend 100% at the client, basically being ASCs/EMs (being translators or just leading data heavy projects). Most are somewhere in the middle
Worked as a DS for McK Analytics. 1 or 2 days per week at client side to define the scope and present the results, the rest at home coding. WFH lifestyle is pretty good (usually end up at 6pm/7pm) and salary is comparable to a consultant of similar tenure. A clear distinction is made from EM onward based on the path you chose.. either partner track or expert track.
Worked with them on different studies, in Europe they will normally work till 10/11pm - so not too different from normal consultants, likely pulling less fire drills late at night cause the impact of a wrong line of code exceeds that of a non aligned textbox...
Where did you read this thing of 10/11pm?

Had a call with a recruiter. Apparently it‘s only 20-60% coding depending on the project. Concerning hours I can let you guys know if I make it through the last two rounds lol
What level are your interviewing for? Unless you're getting hired near or above the Principal/Expert range, where you're overseeing work at multiple clients at once, 60-80% coding is accurate.
I will clarify that QuantumBlack is much larger than it was a few years ago, and a number of McKinsey colleagues have been brought under the QuantumBlack brand umbrella. Their experience usually differs from those hired directly into QuantumBlack.
