Not posting to brag, I just can’t fathom why anyone who is not interested in making partner would stay at big four when you can make so much more and have a better quality of life
Holy hell; that’s great;
I guess I’m assuming you get stuck there.. no real reason other than unsure it’s providing the best value for my resume
I mean $140 to $165k over two years is not good. If that’s indicative of what you can expect over the next 10 years, public is going to come out way ahead. I went from 105 to 134 last year and expect a a $25k raise this year. Everything else you said seems great though. Hopefully you see massive promo raises to make up for the low annual raises
If that’s true, then you should expect massive raises at some point. I wonder why your raises have been so small if the ceiling is that high.
Some big4 partner can touch that range, but you’re right that’s well over what most are making.
Happy for you, definitely found yourself a nice role, but people stay in public mostly for earning potential later on. Sure you make good money now but there is always a ceiling to how much someone is willing to pay for back office support.
Can i PM you the name of the firm?
I am a tax senior with a ton of experience- and I am just getting ready to apply to PE. Can you share what your strategy for applying in finding jobs was
At least from what I've heard, fund accounting limits you to fund accounting and it's pretty limited in upwards potential. Not sure if this is universal, but have heard from boomerangs it's very dry and repetitive after like, the second close cycle (which I guess could be a benefit)
