I’m torn between 2 offers. One as a Managing Consultant at a boutique talent consulting firm and one as a Talent/OD Lead in industry. My long term goal is to become a Director/VP one day. People are telling to go for the industry role then but I kind of still want to be in consulting for a few more years. What is a polite way of stating that I'd like to withdraw from a job application after a phone screening? I did an initial phone screening and I felt something was off with the recruiter, I can't explain it but it gave me an idea of how the company's culture is and it turned me off completely.

I made it to Big Tech, i feel I’m less creative and less empowered. I’ve had my roots in startups where I took charge, wore multiple hats, and had little resistance. Here there are a lot more processes, work is uninspiring (working on smaller features) - just feel undervalued. But the money is significantly better :/. Is it like this in all big tech and all big companies it’s in general? The startup level teams I’ve seen are bloated - messier and more restrictive than actual startups.
