Never heard of layoffs. Do you mean performance-related involuntary separations?
PRIS. As in “Karen got PRISd after that latest client debacle”
Disguising them as performance layoffs.

No. We are at the end of our performance year and this is naturally when any low performers are identified and notified they no longer have a future role with the firm.

Psst. We're not allowed to call them layoffs...
Maybe not talk about our firm here? There are dedicated Deloitte bowls
It’s called getting counseled out

For PR reasons it’s not “layoffs”
Call it whatever you want, but the workforce is shrinking..
You're not supposed to say "layoffs" as it has a negative connotation. Use "culling of the herd" instead. Or call it a "cleansing." I think the PR folks will like that better.
Heard there were leadership calls today or yesterday about ‘separations’... no other details yet...

Demand shrinkage will drive reduction in workforce, call it whatever, but sadly companies call it performance based cuts!
