Have you paid attention to the services EY is making a priority in their Global Tax Refresh?
I should probably look into that. thanks 🙂
I am in PCS and my future is so littered with opportunity that I don’t know what to do with myself. I will never face a pay gap. I’d give the usual advice, keep your experience broad while carving out a niche. Individuals, foreign filings, estate and trust, closely held entities, etc. Try to run the gamut.
My friends who did PCS are now working at UHNW wealth managers / family offices making more than any tax managers at a PE/HF shop.
There will probably be a pay gap but there will also probably be a quality of life difference as well. I'm in FS, life ain't great here haha.
You definitely have a lot of about opportunities in pcs, especially if you think you may want to be an equity partner in a smaller firm or have better balance in the future. Trust experience seems particularly in demand in my market.
Agree with TM2. There is tons of opportunity in the family office space and similar. Those guys still make tons of money. And a lot of times they are able to get into the same lucrative investments. Think of it as a small PE fund.
