Need some advice here. I am a fullstack developer with 5 yoe in Angular and Python. My aim is to crack FAANG companies. Now I got an offer from HSBC in a credit risk model monitoring role using Python. It is close to a data engineer role.
My question is that will it be a good idea to shift from development role to a model monitoring role if I want to move to FAANG in the future?Or does FAANG not prefer people who are not in core development roles?Amazon Microsoft Google Adobe PwC EY Citi Barclays JPMorgan Chase

Bain & Company I’m from Italy and will start my master’s degree at Oxbridge this fall. I got my undergrad from a target uni in continental Europe. I want to start my career in consulting, possibly MBB, in London. I know consulting firms tend to hire locally but I’d really like to work in London and that’s also one of the main reasons why I went for the Oxbridge degree. Career progression will obviously be different for everyone, but I’d say more likely go one of three directions:
1) Leadership
2) Sales executive
3) Sales engineer / solutions architect for a vendor.
Since MSPs are typically focusing on the SMB space, most vCIOs aren’t going to go directly into a true CIO role. It’s likely more common to go into an IT Director or manager role.
Making the switch to sales exec is common due to compensation. Most inside sales and AM individuals make the jump to outside sales to increase salary.
Lastly, assuming your background is more technical, switching to a sales engineer position with a hardware or software company is common. This also provides really solid comp potential.
