It's fine to be friendly, so far as it goes. But not really friends in the traditional sense. I mean, talk about sports, hobbies, whatever. But anything that really matters you should only share on a need to know basis. There's no benefit in people knowing things about you they really have no need to know. Simple as that, cold as it seems.
Trust no one, trust them to do work related things. Don’t trust them to be your friend. Also have been burned before.
It really sucks. Some people are really good at pretending to be your friends and then their true color shows…
Don’t trust them. Don’t over share. Just do your work and maintain a professional relationship if they are someone senior to you. If they are same level, I guess you can be buddy buddy
What happened?
I don’t really wanna get into it. Long story short don’t overshare.
