EY 13, at any level people can look to see if they are getting paid enough by comparing it to other positions that require the same experience. It isn't about needing to grow up, just look at the numbers.
I mean, if you put in hundreds of hours a week and get paid less than someone who works at McDonald's (recalc at an hourly rate), I'm pretty sure people won't be satisfied with that. But fine, yes for the career trajectory if they are determined enough to stick through it.
