I have 2 yrs workex post MBA. I have experience in data analysis and consulting. But I don't want to get into consulting anymore. I am looking for analytics roles. Anyone here would be able to DM and guide me on the available options at Mastercard?

The partners I work with in tax just know the law, not any technology
Excel, power query, ChatGPT, power bi, power automate, SharePoint, your tax systems, PowerPoint
How to leverage AI to automate routine tax compliance and associated tasks. Don’t need to learn to code just learn to prompt the engine
depends what you ultimately wanna do.
for example, if you want to become a partner at EY, then I would start focusing on one or two technologies and get to know them really well and learn how to efficiently implement them, keep up-to-date on the technology, and start building client relationships/learn how to sell
Let’s be honest to be partner at EY you just need to be proficient in sending 3 word emails from your iPhone
Alteryx
Also just to add you don’t NEED to know technology and how to use it to be a good manager unless it’s something you want to specifically focus on tax technology.
If your career is focused on compliance engagements a good quality in a manager is known what resources to pull in. Knowing what technology offerings are in your industry and/or area of tax are key. All you need to do is be that person that can connect your clients to the right technology folks and they do all the work
Really depends on where you want to take your career… if you want to move into tax tech and maybe out of tax, then alteryx, power bi, tableau, UiPath, Automation anywhere, blue prism are all good places to start. But if you like/excel at what you currently do, then maybe it’s more of identifying opportunities for streamlining / automating processes and discussing it with your dev teams / tax tech people to figure out the best solution. If you have additional tax tech questions feel free to pm me.
Excel, Alteryx, GenAI prompt engineering, and… sadly.. powerpoint
None
To be a great PP in Tax, you have to have a good theoretical knowledge of several regularly used technologies, need not be an expert ( you will have a team for that), so you can drive conversions. Getting to PP is a different topic.
Power Query is the tool you would likely use to transform a small tax shop. Works well when used alongside other tax softwares like yardi or OneSource tax provision depending on the type of tax you do.
