(Asking for a friend) Friend is deciding between a graduate role at a top-tier law firm in APAC or a product manager role at a legal tech start up. Starting salaries are similar, culture at legal tech start up is significantly better (remote friendly, flexible hours etc). Friend has been a paralegal at said top-tier law firm for 4 years during college, and doesn’t love the job but feels pressure to go into Law. Does anyone have any thoughts or input?

For me, it's that you are in charge of your own career and no one cares about it like you do. Ask for what you want and make your own opportunities. Doing great work is a good first step, but it's not enough to really build the career you want.
