5 years experience in big4, AWM and alternatives. Studying for CFA (Level II). I have a huge interest in automation/new technologies, and I am really agile with programming and developing new tools but got no degrees to “prove” it (small project only started at big4). I am struggling to find a role leveraging my experience and taking into account my real interests. Do you have any suggestions ?

I am contemplating a move to industry working at a VC, Tax Director role east coast. Looks like it will be primarily overseeing compliance with some aspect of advising on structures etc. There is another tax reporting head above me.

The potential comp is the low 200k with a 10% bonus (still higher than what I am making). I feel this is pretty low for VC standards but maybe my standards are also too high. I have generally seen 25% bonus with carry.

Any thoughts?
