It’s a small world. You might run into him again. Don’t burn bridges.
Also, since I’m incapable of following my own advice, I quit my old firm not over one case, but over one client (a large insurance carrier) who’s in-house counsel was incredibly disrespectful. I saw him at a bar event sometime later and he had the nerve to greet me as if we were old friends. I chugged my drink and walked away from his outstretched hand. Don’t regret it at all. Fuck him and his bridge.

Discovery is like playing a video game against someone who uses the best character and spams all the power moves. Just have to play defense, be patient, stay just out of reach and then POW uppercut an MF’er
I'm with you there. I hate discovery and the tedious back and forth that comes along with it.
I practiced law in another country (civil law system). We don’t have discovery proceedings. It takes a long time to resolve a matter there too but I’ve never experienced this many discovery disputes bc OC has all the time in their hand to make a fuss about someone’s phone number rather than trying to resolve/settle the case.
Don’t leave a job over one case. I did and regret it immensely
Oh, it’s not just the one case. That’s just a side benefit.
