Advice for studying for CISA? I’ve purchased the CRM, QAE, and Hemang Doshi’s book. So far I’m having trouble reading through the CRM because it’s so detailed that everything seems important and difficult to retain. I’m an incoming new hire so I think I should read the book even though I know people who have passed with only QAE (they were previous b4 interns)

Best paid CPE subscriptions? I know there are free courses on various sites, but my new company is willing to pay for a yearly subscription. Wondering if any paid ones have good courses. Only heard of becker and illumeo so far.

The pandemic took all the upside of an IB analyst life (client meetings in person, fancy trips, suit up, worshiped at networking events) and left all the juniors with the downside (long hours, monkey-like type of job, aggressive work environment).

Not that the complaints are not sort of legitimate but you may need to revise the decision-making process that led you to accept a return offer. Specially if you were looking for less hours.

Anyone feel like your job sees you as "one of the good ones?" It hasn't explicitly been said, but I'm one of the only Black attorneys at the firm and I think my white colleagues and partners see me as an example of how Black folks "should be" cause I mind my business. Basically I feel like a token, and I don't know how to shift that idea while staying professional.

Our senior creative leadership keep talking about winning Cannes Lions and D&AD pencils but none of them have actually won any since 2007 (that’s 14 years 😭 ) and between all three of them they’ve never won more than a couple of silvers, a couple of bronzes and a couple of in-books (that’s with a combined experience of over 60 years 😭). When do you know you've toured enough houses and should pick one from the list you've got? I've seen probably 15-20 homes, and put in one offer. How many homes should you tour minimum, and how many offers did you put in before you closed? I don't want to be too hasty and choose something just because, but I also think continuing to see homes isn't really making my decision any easier. Thanks!

Hi all! I’m new! I started the year off planning to save for a home for myself, then rates skyrocketed. So we’re holding off. Fast forward to the final quarter of the year and we were presented with the idea of a residential assisted living facility. The problem there is we’d still need to acquire property in order to run one. The only difference is the RAL would be a business and is already registered as such. Does anyone have any experience here?

Any recommendations for a good water softener/filtering system which keeps the overall salt level low post-softening ?

Buying our first home and from a friend, we are both not using realtor. How do you got about doing this, does some have a playbook I can use?

I’m really discouraged. My after tax / after 401k contributions etc. take home pay is $6,500 monthly. I have $60,000 in savings / stocks for a down payment but even looking at a $550,000 home, my monthly payment would be about $3,400 from the calculators I’ve been using. Is that too high?

So discouraged that houses where I live are about 50% higher than what they were 2 years ago, and now interest rates are around 5.25% for my credit score. This is like a 1750 sq foot home

Plan is to purchase some time after 2 years or so. Primarily to save up for a larger down payment.

Here’s my plan of attack:
- $30K saved right now ($20K in IBonds and $10K cash)
- $90K saved by July 2023
-$130K saved by 2023 and target a $800K home

We were saving for 3 years before Covid and had to use a solid chunk to take care of ourselves and our families during quarantine.
