Bank channel advisor here, just wrapping up on my first year. I’ve focused heavily on building a clean book and currently have $60MM, 85% managed. I don’t discriminate and generally accept anyone with $150k+. However, with the recent market volatility a lot of the smaller clients have been calling me fretting about the market. It has really impacted my calendar. I now find myself shifting smaller prospects toward buffered annuities for easier “fear management”. $2MM+ last mo. Am I wrong for it?

Even within the insurance space (FIA, IA, etc) we are seeing about the same. I just remind them of the floors within their account(s). Settles nerves fairly quickly. Shifting to higher and more affluent clients may help here since many understand global and financial instability. $500k and above.

I have over 12 years in B2B sales/sales management experience along with a graduate degree. I am wanting to shift gears and I am at a point where I can invest time in myself to learn through practical experience. The new industry I am wanting to pursue is real estate investment. I have read all the books but want some hands on experience on the property management side. How could I best leverage my skills for a role in this, and what should my expectations be for negotiation in compensation?

I have been in client facing wealth management as an advisor for 10 years. I haven’t built a book of business because I’ve worked for mostly discount brokers (Merrill edge, TDA, Etrade). I want to know how to transition to a non client facing role in wealth management or another financial role. I am series 7 and series 66 licensed. Any thoughts?

It's a client facing job, but it might come at a later stage of a job, maybe after finishing my internship and getting a job offer.
I'm interested to know what is the must develop skills, must take courses or must read books to get insight, develop the required knowledge and skills for the position. I majored in business management finance and currently preparing for CFA level 1. Thanks in advance ☺️
