Probably 45 then go teach party time in higher ed so I don’t get bored
Sign me up for the party time class!
I’ll have option to retire in 3 years from now when I’m 45 - but plan to work for another 10 years to cover expenses and health insurance, which will put be at more comfortable position to pursue nice lifestyle 😉
Never 🤣 I will just die at my desk
Based on my calculations, I can comfortably retire tomorrow, if I die the following day.
I’m almost at $1.5M in stocks/401k/cash at 40.
I’m not really sure at what net worth it makes sense to start considering retirement but hopefully early retirement is an option
Rising Star
43, 4 more years
55 expected to b in financial position to do so, but probably work longer due to health ins costs
I haven't even really begun to plan for retirement. I know this is not good. But I have over $250k in student loan debt and my rent is crazy high. So, I'm not sure when I will be able to start saving
No family, just turned 38, I work in marketing, and my salary is $62,000.
Retirement age in the UK is 68, so only 43 more years for me
Crying now, thanks
If I move to a hut in Cambodia I could retire now. If I take a cheap apartment back home I can retire at 52. If I want to have an upper middle class lifestyle with lots of travel after retirement im guessing 58-60.
Exactly my retirement thoughts. I’m retiring in 5 years but only because we’re moving to a beach town in Mexico ✌️ 🏖️ gonna live it up!
I’m on track for FI next year at 32 (31F/32M). No inheritance, had college loans, but ground it out and feeling really good right now.
On track for Partner at 35/36 at a T2 firm, so if I hit that, I won’t retire, but if I quit prior, then I’ll call it around then.
50-60 or so
55
I was born able to retire but I would get bored so quickly if I did so
I can probably retire now, but I plan to work another 10 yrs until I am 60.
How do people figure out cost of medical care for early retirement? I’ve always had employer paid insurance. What are the alternatives?
Visa status doesn’t guarantee access to the healthcare system reserved for the country’s citizens. UK National health service has a tiered system. Unless you end up in the ER, doctor appts and procedures are prioritized for citizens
Hopefully in ~14 years when all the kids are out of the house, so around 58.
Planning to ~60, but would like to be in a position to have the option from ~50, and am planning for my spouse to stop ~45.
Will add I am fully willing to be much more frugal/spend less day to day if I hit a point where I want to stop working or do something else that pays considerably less. I grew up modestly and have no problem going back to that if the extra income stops feeling worth the extra time/pressure/stress.
