Because of previous role, I get LinkedIn job recruiting efforts in education. Today it’s one that requires 5 YOE and a masters. It’s a regional sales job for a BIG publishing company, no incentive program, salary listed at 55k. There are 167 applicants and 67% have a masters, 12% doctoral.

Meanwhile I was eyeing a sales position in mgmt consulting, started at 155k with TC up to 300, had only 20-something applicants.

I am not saying these are comparable but… still. 55k?!

I've been almost 3 years in my previous company and never have I ever tasted any raise from them. I got transferred to different accounts and LOB it was so exhausting and finally when I decided to leave and send my resignation my Supervisor be like "you know you should be thankful of your job" To be honest the job was very stressful and supervisor at some point is somehow toxic but thankful I get to take my leave.

I started working as a consultant with EY 8 months ago. Even though I'm content and learning a lot there, I think there are places where I might easily earn more money. I received a job offer last week from Alvarez & Marsal to work as a consultant at the Transaction Advisory Department (financial due diligence team), where I will be paid more fairly (salary & bonus). Should I accept it? Or would leaving EY that early not be wise?

I am financially secure (husband now has a high earning job) and looking at what options for "moon shots" at chances of real wealth generation with my years in Big 4 (10+).
