How much do partners make on average?
Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

^ sunk cost fallacy?
^ you never know B1. Seems everyone on this app is partner track
Sounds like principal. Otherwise, 50% odds for partner are very optimistic.
Doing great in the industry job probably strengthens your partner proposition if that's still in your interest in a few years. Missing partner probably doesn't do your industry exits favors, if only for the reason that such a good offer just might not be available at the time you get suggested to look further. That's all provided you'd be happy in the industry job
Gtfo and don't look back
Do you want to be a partner or do you want the industry job? "Chances" should be a somewhat secondary consideration...
I turned it down... was hard to walk away from a 6 figure signing bonus but if I don't make partner there will be another job.
I wouldn't sweat the timing or a down bonus year, OP. Just weigh the two opportunities. If you make partner, you'll be there for longer than the rest of your tenure combined. Do you want that or the industry job?
How long have you been in consulting now
@bcg1 can't really look at your career the same way as gambling / investments.
Slight preference for the partner job vs the industry job for lifestyle reasons (believe it or not, BCG partner lifestyle isn't bad in some ways compared to executive track at F500 -- at least BCG doesn't ask you to move your family around). But would be happy with either. Question is whether I'd be happier trying for partner, not making it and possibly taking a less-good exit 2 years down the road vs pulling the plug now for a good opportunity.
Leaving as a P4 is the worst possible exit timing. So yea, estimate your realistic chances with platform, constellation and all the goods.

What is your level now?
If it only takes one more year top make partner you should stick it out! Think of all those years you stuck it out. Don't give up now
Make the jump now, time and tide waits for none ..
Why is bonus outlook not good?
What level is the industry job. Promotion in some industries can be a lot harder than partner odds. Better like that job 5 years from now.
OP, did you sell cars at some point?
