Does anybody know if you can switch employer on sponsorship?from outside UK
My situation:I have filled visa and waiting for it from few weeks with company A and don’t want to join then because I have better offer from company B. Company B wants me to withdraw my visa application so they can file a new one for me and they r telling me they can’t generate my CoS until I withdraw application. How shall I withdraw my visa until I don’t even have CoS from company B??

Take it - great comp increase in a new diverse country that gives your profile a nice global edge compared to your peers. Asian/European strategy experience is a strong mix and your ability to thrive in both/either can only be beneficial (you don't know where your exit may be). I wouldn't think your move to an indiv contributor role would exclude you from people leadership later, and certainly isn't going to write off your 11yoe that presumably includes people leadership.
Thanks a lot mate!!
Id say just be aware of the difference to the UK in the social culture, work culture (salary man drinking) and the beauty standards
Lol wth
One thing to consider is the working culture in South Korea is infamously brutal - so would check the expectations and think if that’s a life you want to live. If yes (or you’d be happy putting up your own boundaries) then it’s a cool opportunity to live in an awesome place.
I also do DDs here. Not like my work life balance is remotely decent anyway.
As a Korean, i can tell you each conglomerate is very different.
this feels like Samsung's global strategy group. If this is the case, it will be filled with MBA grads or foreigners. Ive seen people usually come for a few years and leave. If you are non Asian, you might better off as they dont expect you to know/follow customary stuff
If you want sure but i dont have too much information beyond that
Ive known a few who did that role but they are no longer there. Two of them were ex MBB (from local offices) who werr fresh out of MBA and then the other one was MBA grad who stayed for like a decade. My understanding was they have a pretty knit tight community for those in GSG
Living in Korea is a very differrnt story and this comes from Korean based in Korea
Pro - living in exotic country, korea is very convenient, safe. Samsung is a household name in Korea and globally well recognized. Working on cool projects
Con - working for a korean company - lot of hierarchical stuff and Korean ways of working which is very different from the states. Samsung is not so different imo. Korean market is not as big

Hmmm. It depends on what you’re doing now and where? Are you big 4/tier 2 or MBB? If you already have experience at a solid consultancy then I can see how this will diversify your experience and set you apart for future opportunities. It also depends on what you want to do going forward and how you see this role fitting in. Relocation is a big deal so I’d give very careful thought to moving to Seoul and if it’s a place you want to be

Take it!
Any and all advise would be appreciated
Most of the impactful roles are IC roles these days, so that shouldnt worry you.
Working in South Korea will open up Asian markets for you - I say take it.
I meant Individual Contributor roles

Can I ask how you sourced this role? Did a recruiter reach out to you, or did you apply? Referrral or no? Looking for similar opportunities
