Go for Booz, I’m in federal contracting at Deloitte and I feel like we’re cheating the client and taxpayers everyday. Maybe that’s project-specific but Booz also has WLB; 55 hrs is a minimum on my project due to poor leadership, misaligned staff, unrealistic goals, lack of client management
Pro
The cultural challenge at Booz IMO is that there can be a disconnect between the “company line” about WLB, and the reality of what clients want and your ability to push back/your team management’s willingness to help you push back in order to maintain that balance. Some managers will always have your back; others are afraid the clients will get upset if someone stands up to them/points out that their request is unreasonable.
Pay, benefits - BCG
WLB - Booz Allen
Interesting projects - Depends what you like but you'll likely have the widest selection at Deloitte
@OW1 Good WLB and low pay/slow growth
@SC Deloitte pays competitively and pays well if you have high demand expertise...but rarely/never as well as BCG for comparable level
All of MBB does federal consulting.
It depends on what fed consulting you’re looking for too. If you’re into Analytics and AI, BAH is the largest provider. And it doesn’t even come close.
Accenture Federal is good for WLB and pay. Guidehouse seems like it would be a chaotic place to work right now with all their merger activities. BAH seems to do a lot more mission oriented work if that’s your thing, but also a lot of staff aug. Deloitte pays the best but you’ll have longer hours. IBM has a pretty sizable federal practice, but I don’t know much about them.
It depends...from what I can tell Booz has WLB. I got do many side hustles and startups it's fun
Yes as long as you go through the Ethics & Compliance process as well as "Secondary Income" process if you have a clearance.
