If you don’t want an it depends answer than you need to provide enough information to eliminate the variables.
I grew up in the firm and am roughly 3x my staff1 salary at sm1
so basically 150 to 190
Grew up at the firm - first year FDD SM with an early promotion - my base now is 3.2x my audit starting salary from audit in 2012. What else do you want to know?
First year SM in 6-7 years? Damn!!
What city? big4careerlab.com
Thank you!
Moved around a bit, started 26 years ago, still not senior manager (it’s a whatever at this point - I’m happy with my salary and benefits) - 5.2x starting salary. But idk if you can compare 1993 starting pay to today.
Started in tax, moved into consulting about 8 years in
I’d do law. 17 years and only at 150
Well, the economy was crap for 7-8 years there, right when I s/h/b Senior Manager. Central US. It’s ‘ok’, but sometimes the light at the end of the tunnel is a train.
I wonder how this differs between service line and group
Update to my question: I work in the tax service line. EY2 and EY3: is that base salary or is there a bonus component included?
Im basically trying to reevaluate law school based on time invested/salary (eg potential $200k salary after law school following 5 years at the firm or 8 years at the firm and sounds like I should expect to be 160-180k+ without the debt)
Bonus isn’t factored into the numbers I gave. Total variable comp last year (M2 to SM1) (excluding promo bonus) was 16k PBB + ~8k in ovations/RAC
Same with the numbers I gave. I have been risk advisory all the way through
Hey EY OP, I’m in tax as well and work with attorneys. There are Seniors (2s and 3s) in my practice who are clearing $140k. I’d imagine getting to $200k salary can be achieved within the 5-8 year time frame.
Note: some attorneys have LLM and coming out of LLM program, I think they are starting around $105k-$110k. The downside is the massive amount of debt.
Yes, correct. Those are Seniors with LLM
I think my SM in Chicago (12ish years with the firm) is at 150
