My boss and mentor was recently laid off with the cuts made last week, and I have a gut feeling I’m next. I’ve tried my best to stay positive with my current agency, but it’s time to move on. I need a change of pace. Understand just about every shop is on a hiring freeze, but anyone need a strategist?
Anyone else have a lingering fear that they could be fired at any moment? I’ve received great performance reviews and my partner says I’m doing very well, but I don’t vibe with my colleagues as well as it seems others do.
My mom just got laid off today...just got promoted on Friday too...why does this happen😣 all I want to do is fly home and hug my mom
With all this crap with the ratings and the layoffs, I'm gonna start talking to recruiters tomorrow and activate my network. This is more trouble than it's worth. I work my ass off I don't deserve thi
Is now a good time to start at Deloitte? Or are more layoffs expected in the near future? Have an offer for human capital comm. for consultant level and recruiter is recommending starting on Sept 1
If I didn’t get a return offer from a summer internship, does that make me ineligible for rehire on a background check for a full time job? For context, I didn’t get fired or do anything illegal or rude. I showed up and tried every day. I just wasn’t as good with the soft skills and coding, and even then, I didn’t get anything lower than a 3/5 in my reviews. 3 was met expectations and I think that’s average. I also got some 4’s if that helps.
So now that Trump has been fired. Are we ready to talk about splitting the Union? Think about it. 70M americans want a fascist dictatorship, and think wanting to give people equal rights is socialism Lets go for an amicable divorce. Let them keep their Fascism and we will keep our "Socialism"
Do you ever wish you get fired?
Deloitte consultant level here... How is the TS&A pipeline after experiences some layoffs not too long ago?
If anyone deserves to have layoffs, it’s those folks in TSA - Bunch of lazy people standing around and whiling their time chatting.
Folks who've been laid off before: how do you keep the anxiety from creeping in anytime you make even a small mistake at the new job? 🙁
I was laid off in June. Most consulting companies are on a hiring freeze that I’ve talked to. It’s pretty hard on my psyche to not get down on myself. I worked so hard to get to Deloitte and now it feels like I’m starting over. It’s tough. Any advice on companies that are hiring? I only want to go if it is a fit not just anywhere you know. Thanks.
Got laid off in April making 73k, found a new job in May making 90k then just hopped again for 115k. Despite this year being a dumpster fire in every other avenue, I’m so proud of myself for finally feeling like I’m getting paid what I’m worth.
Is it common practice in Singapore for firms to have a probation period for new joiners (duration at their discretion), during which new joiners can be fired at a week’s notice period?
Somewhat of a recent hire - how hard is it to transfer into a different practice in consulting? Will I get fired for asking?
Has anyone come back from being put on a PiP? My colleague just got one and is freaking out - her manager is overallocated like crazy, the other two media planners were laid off, and she’s the only one left standing. Her boss says she’s making too many mistakes - but they’re so short staffed. Any hope, or should she start looking now?
Hey guys I also got laid off at D. 1 year experience as a BTA>S&A>CCG. Would anybody mind helping a mate out with any referrals? Would love to discuss over DM. Appreciate your help, thank you so much!
It's kinda bullshit that a lot of us worked hard to get into consulting and now have to deal with layoffs. While others are enjoying safe decent paying jobs even though they slack off.
Why does PwC need layoffs again if the business is doing well? Also, curious to know what are the other “business reasons” when your util and snapshots are great?
Any of the EY 🐠 out there have any info on the the following role “Tech Consulting Senior - DDnA - Digital Program Activation”
Pretty sure I just bombed my final interview for a PM exit 😰 Also have laryngitis so that's been fun with all these interviews 😟
I saw a fast track promotion via ACN, my regular skymiles doesn't seem to work, can I create another account and merge later or?

Planning to be in Mexico City for ~2 weeks at a super short notice for a mix of reasons. Couple of Qs: 1) Any recommended affordable on points Marriot hotel in a nice neighbourhood (was looking at AC Santa Fe and a couple of Courtyard hotels)? Would prefer something closer to sightseeing sites 2) Any day trips or overnight trips from Mexico City that you’d suggest? 3) Is USD accepted in most tourist places or is it relatively easy to exchange USD to MXN while I’m at Mexico City?
I had the worse interview experience with PwC. The recruiter is totally unprofessional. Forgot the scheduled interview time twice. Finally, called me and the interview went well. I was told that someone from the practice will contact me for the next round of interviews in one or two days. If everything goes well, I should have an offer in hand by Friday ( that was Monday) because they try to move fast nowadays. Now, three weeks passed, never heard anything from anyone... been totally ghosted...
Is it dumb to leave Accenture to go to McKinsey? I’m already sick of consulting and really dont want to sacrifice quality of life but the offer is enticing.
Earning 105k per annum gross and living in Toronto. Can I buy a 800k townhouse by start of 2023 in the Toronto/GTA area on this single income? If not, how much should be my TC to achieve the same? Thanks.
Earning 150k for 2 YOE out of undergrad. Work is chill and I don’t work past 5:30-6 - but I’m not really learning much and project is boring. Should I stick in out or leave?
Do you take interviews if recruiters say your comp requirements are “a bit out of range, but we could get approved for more?”
Is Saatchi still a good name agency? Genuinely curious to hear what people in/outside of the agency think.
How many different employer 401K accounts do you have? I’ve switched companies a few times in my career and have 4, primarily because I’m too lazy to consolidate accounts. Any downsides besides having to remember the accounts?
Genpact with a SVP role or Capgemini with a Senior Manager role? PS : Capgemini would pay almost 20% more but lower on designation.. quite confused, some brainstorming would be appreciated
10+ YOE, experienced hire, and up for promotion to SC this year. My current project is straight up analyst work (absolutely no disrespect). I spend my days doing nothing but updating excel sheets, producing reports for slides, and doing extremely boring work (go into 100+ folders/excels and report back on who's completed what). I not only feel like this is BS, but I feel like it's going to screw up my promotion. I've never asked any analyst I have worked with to do this stuff, yet here I am...
Anyone have any insight about the culture with Platinum Equity? I’ve been in discussions with them about a VP of Transformation role to work with their portfolio companies. No comp details yet
