There’s a Big Law bowl that may be helpful to ask this in too. I haven’t worked in Big Law, I’ve worked at national nonprofits and gotten to know some pro bono counsel and pro bono partners at Big Law firms. They’ve generally said they enjoyed being pro bono counsel, less pressure, and they get to work as a liaison between the firm and the nonprofits, which they loved.
Thank you! I posted in the big Law bowl as well
I’m in Biglaw but not a Pro Bono Counsel. Negotiate carefully, as you could make less than a first-year associate. From what I’ve heard, the hours are better than corporate/litigation, but it’s still demanding with many objectives. At times, you may work just as much when lawyers rush to meet pro bono hours and rely on you to find them pro bono work.
Thank you for this insight!
