Just received a verbal offer for Deloitte Advisory SC Cyber role. Currently SC (1st year, 107k) at EY but realize that SC at Deloitte is slightly more senior (analyst->consultant->SC vs consultant->SC). Happy at EY but also interested in maximizing income. What would be reasonable comp to make this jump worthwhile? Is it really true that the best way to increase comp is this type of jump (as I’ve heard on this app)?

When I started in public 5-6 years ago most associates and seniors were willing to put in 60+ hour weeks. Now it seems that people are less willing to and want more money from firms sooner. Are others noticing this? If so, do you think that the public accounting model will change in the future? Perhaps hiring more with less hour expectation per person or some other solution.

I was asked about salary requirements in an interview. I basically took the hourly rate of 275 x annual billing of 1600. Divided by 4 assuming I should make around 25% of what I bill. Came to 110k. Based on office manager's reaction I think they were expecting me to say something a lot lower. Surprising as I've seen the calculation done w/30%.
