Can anyone tell me if there are any MCO’s or mental health agencies that try to maintain a realistic case load size for their behavioral health case managers? I’m considering changing companies. I have considered companies such as Elevance Health. Molina Health, but don’t want to end up in the same situation as I’m currently experiencing. Thank you

I’d recommend Molina! I work for their sister company Monroe Plan and the caseloads are very manageable. MP is also super employee focused. Best job I’ve had in this field so far!

I have worked at Elevance health for 8 years in 2 positions for 2 different BH teams. In both, their case loads were/are extremely manageable. I have never ever felt overworked or burnt out in the entire 8 years.

Check out Octave. They seem to be pretty impressive, but are not in all states yet.

Thank you

Probably not. You could look at Magellan, not sure case load size

How did everyone here get into sales? Would love to hear your stories!

I was getting out of the military, had no directly transferable work skills, and needed to make a living in an expensive city (San Diego). Started looking at my options and found that I could do menial labor for just above minimum wage OR I could learn to get people to buy things and make this wonderful thing called commission! Took a job in insurance sales and the rest is history! Been in sales for about 15 years now ❤️

Any tips on where to begin? Any programs you would suggest regarding the business side of a private practice? Thank you!

I’m a CMA who works in Behavioral Health. I have been asked to float to different offices to assist other providers because we are short staffed. The positions have been posted for 2 months or more. I feel since I’m doing the job of 3 CMAs I should get a raise. Any ideas on how to present my case for a wage increase to management?

I see a lot of people on this bowl saying to treat equity as worthless when evaluating startup offers, and I wanted to provide an alternate take. Over the course of a career in tech / startups, equity is a very meaningful part of compensation (even if it sometimes ends up being worthless for a specific role, and/or only pays out a few times in a career). Please don’t disregard it - IMO it’s one of the better risk adjusted ways to make real money. Focusing on only cash comp is limiting long-term.

This is why I am thinking of psyD. Also, considering psychiatric RN or lmft.
