I'm curious what the average salary is for an Associate Agent. I'm licensed & do everything after the sale is made as well as refer new business. I have 14 years in the industry but have been at the current company less than a year, so I know that plays a part as well. Anyone in a like-position by chance?State Farm Allstate Travelers

Actually ever since cvs bought aetna i feel overworked. Pre cvs it wasn’t nearly as crazy. I think its cvs that does it but again thats still probably an industry thing
I was hired by Aetna and with the company during the acquisition. At Aetna I worked long hours, but that was because of the position (account management). Now I find it’s just harder to do my job because CVS seems to promote people who don’t know what they’re doing or are autocratic leaders. It’s more chaotic now where before it was just larger volumes of work at certain times of the year, or having too large of a book of business. It’s impossible to find what you need to get things done.
I hate to say this OP but I agree with everyone above. I really do think it is just an industry thing though because I have worked several places and they all tend to overwork their employees. I will say it is better here at Aetna than the other places I have worked.
My work life balance actually improved since coming to Aetna from UHG.
I’m being overworked at Humana so it may be an industry thing.
Also overworked... it's an industry thing for sure
Aetna definitely overworks employees but if you’re senior enough you might have wiggle room.
I worked at Humana for 28 years until their decision to exit the commercial medical business. I would have loved to stay but kept getting turned down for internal jobs with out a reason. Yes, you are being over worked.
Aetna like any other company it depends on your team and organization. Certain teams have monthly deliverables so end of the month it's usually more hours. Some like audit you have 1-3 deliverables per year but to hit them you need to do alot of over time at the end. Same with STAT reporting. That being said .... it comes down to your team and manager a lot of the time.
Aetna definitely overworks most teams in comparison with other payers.
