I would "soft-quite" - Take your vacation time and give your two weeks when you get back.
It will work if you take your vacation first and then put in your notice. Only fool proof way to make you’re you hit your vesting.
If you put in your notice and then take vacation, it’s going to be up to your manager how they deal with that.
IMO, just work until vest date, then put in you notice, and cash out vacation in your final paycheck. It’s not worth coasting and then bailing. Secure your cash, put your 2 weeks and leave on good terms.
I’m assuming that’s a sizable amount of money. Is it really worth risking it?
Microsoft coming through with the solid advice^
I don’t have experience with Amazon practices but I’d proceed carefully. With at will employment, you’re not guaranteed the runway you’re seeking once you give notice. Exiting someone who’s given notice earlier is very common and you may find you might be transitioned out earlier and miss your goal. This exact thing happened to someone I know at a large publically traded company. I’d just take your vacation and resign after unless you receive confidence in how this would be handled.

You have to make sure you are employed on that vesting date. That is the number one priority. Take your vacation, then turn in your notice on your vest date.
This is a really good question. I've never heard of that being done before.
