Can one pass the CCSP studying from just the Sybex book? Cissp with 7 years experience but never want to take anything for granted.

In my experience, no. The exam was much more technical as compared to official study material, specifically in regards to application security

Extremely technical and specific questions from OWASP top 10 for example

I went to the boot camp for CCSP. Books and boot camp were garbage. A better way to study for it is to study the CCSK books which most of the material comes from. Also the 11th hour CISSP since some of the low level CISSP questions make their way into the CCSP exam

Online course certificates for skills like SCALA, BIGDATA, BIG QUERY, SPARK etc matter?? Who asks for it?

So i have been fortunate that i have managed to go through my career without the need for a degree. I was lucky enough to have been hired by one of the worlds top consulting firms, worked with a whole lot of big clients and travelled a lot. It's gotten to the point where I am not even asked about the lack of a degree on my resume. Personally though, it bothers me. I have a whole bunch of certifications in my industry…but just no formal degree. (cont'd)

My preferences include:
Learning opportunities in the role.
Company's work environment.
Company's growth prospects, are also a consideration.

We’d love Asheville or Blue Ridge mts, but venues can be super pricy and pushing it drive wise. Smoky mountains, Tennessee or Red River Gorge, KY also on list. We love outdoors but hate cheesy, ultra commercial areas. Im hoping to get peak Fall colors so I have to make a decision for 2023 soon. 50-65 ppl. Ideas for venues?

I just spoke with a software architect that went back to school to learn software engineering after law school because it was more lucrative and had less hours. He’s worked his way up and has the skills and authority to work 6:30am-10am and gets to work remotely. We discussed that results/outputs is better than billable time like in law and public accounting. Yet, his parents and others would view him as “lazy” but he does his job and makes a fantastic living. Time>Money and Results>Hours

Question on on labor laws in the US:

Received an offer from Amazon but I'm concerned about negotiating hard and ending up with an offer that's on the higher end of the pay band when compared to the rest of the (future) team. My concern is during an economic downturn, it would be easier to let me go if the team needs to be downsized. This would be because I would have the least experience on the team & more expensive to retain from a cost perspective.

My concerns valid? #amazon #aws #faang

I was hoping one of these next certs will help me finally break into a security role and love the idea of pentesting but not sure if the CySA+ is more beneficial.
