I'll be joining tw as UI Lead, soon.
I'm a javascript/react developer since inception of my career & haven't worked much on CICD/JENKINS and similar technology.
Should I be worried that as a lead I don't know these and will it affect by job security?
Ps- I'm good at UI,js, react etc.

SWE. PE holds zero interest for me, while SWE is real work that produces tangible results, and that's without considering WLB or anything like that.
Probably SWE. Better hours.
Software engineering, but only if it’s at a top company
SWE at FAANG is much much easier to break into than top PE
Sure, but assuming you can break into both, which one would you pick?
What is PE?
Oh so Management material.
I personally like PE but that’s only because I suck at tech. If I could be great at either I’d go swe. Build something cool
Professional Engineer
I don’t get it. SWE is something you could have tangibly done. If you would love to break into it, why didn’t you study computer science and go that route? It’s a silly comparison. There’s no educational or skill development path to top tier PE. It’s just prestige driven - prestigious banking or consulting post undergrad could open that door. Comparing apples and oranges
OP is asking if you like apples or oranges
Speaking as a former SWE... it’s easy to get bored. In enterprise / large scale software, you end up working in one or two products and develop a real niche, and you’re just one person in a large team, so progression isn’t that fast (I still call it the manufacturing chain of today’s age, in large companies you’re hundreds of SWE working on the same piece of software and adding features you may or may not care about).
On the other hand at the end of the day you can go home at 5, get great benefits, not stress, and you don’t need to feel like a piece of shit because you sucked the blood out of a working company in the name of profit.
