Can you just be a serial contractor till I’m 26? The age which you get kicked off your parents health insurance. This may sound stupid but is there anything wrong with working on 6 month contracts early in your career? You get a comp adjustment every 6 to 12 months, learn new skills, etc. or is this still considered “job hopping”.

Perfectly fine. The question is how to demonstrate the skills that you have gained, showed promotion, etc

Be a cereal contractor. Fruit loops is always looking for warm bodies.

You could be a serial contractor your entire career. Nothing at all wrong with it.

Now, making sure you have contracts lined up all the time is a different matter, but there's nothing wrong with remaining a contractor.

I really read that first sentence wrong

Go ahead, but contractors in Tech are definitely not treated as well as employees nor do they make as much by any stretch of the imagination.

I am leaving retail pharmacy after 15 years. I am opening a 403b pharmacy for a FQHC. I don't believe that retail pharmacy will be able to sustain itself with patient costs skyrocketing. I think people will become enraged or indifferent enough to allow the federal government to take over healthcare. How many times do we see people getting free prescriptions via government coverage that drive better cars than we do?

I’m interviewing at Google’s Treasury team. The role would be as a rates analyst managing their portfolio - primarily cash and short duration fixed income products (100bn aum). TC: ~150k, not sure of breakdown.

I currently work as a quant/middle office at a very well reputed mutual fund, but this is not a market facing role. TC: 125k, but they have a very generous profit sharing plan that contributes 25% of my pay to retirement accts if I stay for 6 years, so ~160k?

Any thoughts?
