Yes, you can. Use terms like you are looking for a certain pay and negotiating in good faith. You do not want it to be a dealbreaker. That way you are opening the doors for possible increase in pay but at the same time not allowing them to close the doors on the offer to you.
You can always negotiate a job offer, it is just harder if you are unemployed as you have less leverage.
Yes! I felt like I didn’t have leverage because I was at my last job for only 9 months & then laid off
Yeah, of course. I’d always negotiate salary and other important items. If you back it up with market data, etc. then it’s not really relevant that you are unemployed. For all they know you could be independently wealthy and just like the type of work.
Yes, you can. Just ask what you want. If they don’t offer you, move on. There are tons of jobs. Don’t care it too much.
The job market has been horrible this year :/
I’ve been unemployed for 3 months. My last job was accounting advisory at a boutique firm where I made $90k fully remote. Prior to the my last role I worked in audit for 2 yrs at a mid tier firm.
The new role offered me $93k also remote.
Yea I feel the same. There’s too much competition for remote roles
You can always negotiate whether you are unemployed or not. at the end of the day you know your worth and it is up to you to ensure you are getting paid what you are worth. I think in general companies expect someone to negotiate back and forth and not take the first offer.
