@kpmg2 if you have the freedom instead of taking cash back at a rate of 1 point = $0.01 you can transfer your points to the CSR and redeem the ultimate rewards points for travel in their portal 1 point = $0.015. Or obviously transfer to United, Southwest, Marriott (I think...) etc too so keep both/get Freedom Unlimited
@EY4 thanks for the response
Best card
+ Airport Lounge Access
+ Global Entry/TSA Reimbursement
+ No Foreign Transaction Fees
+3% back on travel, food, hotels, bars, etc
Gotta spend 4K in 3 months to get the 100k. It's worth it if you can get the card though. $450 annual fee but you get $300 back in travel credits.
My wife and I each have one. We're traveling to Europe on with the points and it'll pay for our round trip airfare and then some
I'm at 13/24 unfortunately
@ch2 what's your favorite card?
Why is today the last day to apply? I've been thinking of applying for the card but don't wanna pull the trigger until I know I'll get good use out of it
Manufactured spending (I.e. Gift cards or prepaid cards). /r/churning has excellent tips on how to reach minimum spending
Hmmm I'm gonna ask my landlord if I can pay rent via cc lol. Otherwise there's no way I'm spending 4k in 3 months
It's not easy to get this card. If spending 4K in 3 months is an issue you might have a hard time getting the card.
@kpmg2, I would switch to freedom unlimited. Do the math on your spending, it turns out 1.5 on everything is better than getting more points on those rotating categories bc there's a cap on those each quarter anyway. The sapphire-freedom combo is the way to go bc personally all I spend my money on is travel (including Uber!!) and dining. And your ultimate rewards points are between both accounts so you can maximize spending: on travel and dining you can get 2x or 3x and then everything else you get 1.5x
Also sapphire reserve is visa infinite/sapphire preferred is visa signature. There are some good perks associated with both
CSR for traveling and dining + CF for rotating 5% + CFU for non bonus spending = A lot of UR points
They're cutting the bonus from 100k to 50k
Hard to say right now. I like the freedom and CSP/R combo.
Ah ok, I don't think I spend 4k in 3 months. What are easy things I can do to help me reach that goal?
Gift cards would qualify for the 4k spending?? Damn thanks for the jnfo
