I have received offer from Shell and SAP labs is in final stage salary discussion. Shell is offering 6 lacs more than @SAP labs. I have tried to negotiate a lot from SAP but they are not ready. They are putting conditions like give your full commitment to join then only we'll release offer letter. I am currently looking for work life balance with growth. What do you want to do? I would say it is a great certification to have on your resume. Will it make you an expert at pen testing, IAM, cryptography, etc.? No. However, it will give you a great foundation in Information Security and help you understand how all the pieces fit together.
We require it for promo to manager, so yeah I’d say it’s worth it
CISSP in 2001. Lapsed in 2010 due to lack of CPE. Busy generating revenue.
CCNA in 2002. Lapsed in 2005 due to lack of CPE. Busy generating revenue.

It is without a doubt testimony to broader understanding of information security
I view it as a sign that someone has a solid understanding of information security from a broad perspective. Like EY1 said, it's not a signal of expertise in any single area, but shows that you can see the whole board. By no means is it the single factor in hiring, but it still helps one to stand out a bit
It gave me the confidence to know what domain to specialize in. It gave me a high paying job. It validates that I am committed towards my field of work. It does not determine that I am an SME. It does not prove I am worth salt. It does get me an interview for cyber positions.

I put it off as long as I could in order to stay more technical, but where I was offered to pay for it, there's no downside to having it.
Been wondering the same thing. Have been more on the infrastructure, tech arch side, but think this just helps tremendously when searching for new positions regardless of what domain you play in. Security is more of a horizontal anyway so it’ll complement whatever skills you have. I think I’m going to shoot for it too, I just need to get off my ass
absolutely
Depends if you wanna be in management. I got my cissp a few months out of college, decided I dont want to be in management, so it's kind of dead weight for me.
