Can Amazon please do a stock split 😭
Hey guys. I have been applying to Amex for the past 1 year. Tried applying on the portal, through referrals and even hr consultants reached me regarding the roles since I have a relevant profile. But not once have I been shortlisted or called for an interview. What could be the problem?
PS: I have gotten calls from every other company for the same profile but not amex. Can't be a problem with the profile. Seems something dicey which I'm not aware of.American Express

Get a different food truck to show up each weekend
Bars around Lake Tahoe have food trucks.
Trivia nights? Market through Facebook/local resources depending on what city to let people know what’s happening - 4/5 person teams, no entry fee (people will buy food and drinks if you schedule it around dinner time), prize could be a voucher for money off on their next visit and a picture on the wall - people love having their name/picture on the wall and will come back/bring their friends.
Based on the description is sounds like a more laid back, casual atmosphere, maybe some live music from aspiring bands in the area? (Warning for live music, my advice to be to keep it quieter rather than louder, I love live music but can’t stand when I can’t talk to the people I came with).
Also maybe some theme nights, would definitely check out a bar if they were doing a jazz night, etc., but it would definitely depend on the demographic of the area
Make a really unique drink / menu item and try and get it featured on one of those tasty FB videos to go viral!

Have a day dedicated to bringing your dog and having a beer outside. “Beagles and Beers” or whatever works
It need to be THE place to be for people with disposable income if the local supports that. New menus, new chef. Make it high end where people are crazy to get a table. Mixologist at the bar, craft cocktails. Make it exclusive and charge accordingly.
Again, it matters a lot where the bar is located
I think the biggest factor is that it’s a small bar. Get rid of the tables and put in high tops or long tables with more seating room. More butts in chairs is more drinks. Smaller operation means having a small cocktail drink specials menu (1-4) to capitalize on higher margin goods and control costs. Make the specials meaningful and great quality and customers will return.
Lastly, a bar is often about atmosphere. Lounge feel, high end, nice decor. Or, loud, active, casual
You expect us to give you advice without an invoice? 🤣
A few of these are touched on by others but here is how I would approach this.
1. Understand the current state. You mentioned topline sales but I would work to review the things your parents may not have time for. Rent, labor, inventory, categorized sales/margins. If your customers are not actually profitable due to portions/ingredients/labor then selling more won't help.
2. Fix. Based on what you learn in the first step, set up fixes to improve the fundamentals.
3. Local research. Since this is in Slovenia, I have no clue what is popular but survey the local area and local friends to see what customers are attracted to.
4. Set plan and implement. Once you decide what market you want to try and serve, go get it. My gut says that your non-downtown location won't support an ultra bougie craft cocktail vibe but maybe, as others mentioned, it can pivot to build out more around coffee, desserts and wine?
Shooting in the dark will not help though. I would start with the numbers and work from there.
Live music? Amazing what that can draw if it’s a differentiator — doesn’t even need to be anything special
Will watch the show, thank you!
you’ll figure it out OP :)
Karoke...Trivia night...etc. With prizes of at least 50 dollars.
Capitalize on what they are known for, eg give one free shot at prime time if they bought a coffee or vice versa.
Love a themed bar. People LOVE a pop up bar
In Italy, I loved the standing espresso bars in the morning. They were lovely and bright, super convenient. I'd kind of make it a coffee by day, bar by night thing. Also, there are easy changes, like updates to the menu. Few aesthetic things. Look through Pinterest...
Mezcal bar. Dim lighting with lots of fairy lights and candles. Trivia nights. Liquor and food packages and offers. And festival specials
Was going to say! It’s all about lightning lightning lightning + extended happy hours
Worst thing about American bars... TVs, music and gimmicks. Makes me long for a good old English boozer. A decent bar shouldn’t have a Tv. Just needs a decent cask ale selection and good choice in gin. No stereotypes here, move along!
