Considering an ELT role at a small/mid-size agency. Heavy project work (big names, good reputation).

They keep a lean staff & historically have done layoffs in favor of freelance when things are tight. But layoffs have usually been more junior, not ELT level.

If conversations continue, I’d like to discuss a severance agreement in my contract just to save my ass. Has anyone navigated that? What are realistic terms?

If a recession hits, I don’t wanna be screwed due to taking a big leap.

I am looking to make a career change to HR. I currently make 75K as a sales and development coach. Curious if anyone else is or has been in the same boat. I started as an assistant at an entertainment law firm prior to passing the bar. Upon passing, the partner told me they would hire an assistant for me since I now became an associate. That was 1.5 years ago and I am still in the limbo of juggling my own workload + doing assistant roles for my supervisors. I have also had no increase in pay, which is a huge deal for me. What house plants are NOT toxic to cats? I swear every time I go to buy a new plant and look it up it says “toxic to pets”. I got an offer at Nokia, and my new manager said that she wanted to put me in the higher salary bracket however the HR insisted that we lowered the range.
