Why do people want to work for UMM/MF? I feel likes it’s a rat race follow the heard mentality with little long term upside (you get paid a bunch for two years but then what?). I’m really keen to go the MM but feel like I’m making a mistake the way my friends talk about it…. In my mind a small younger growing fund is such a better opportunity — more learning, exposure, promotional potentially, and, hopefully, culture. What am I missing?

Genuine question as I wanted to know is it strange for someone to want to switch to advisory from tax. Would it be difficult for someone to transition from that position? For those who interview what do y’all look for in your interviewees? I feel like when I ever interview for a technical role they’re looking for skills and experience first. But when I interview for a S&O/ functional role they’re looking for more fit, personality, and culture? Though i’m just at the SC level I’m probably wrong.

Salary range for an ACD in LA?

As soon as my husband and I got engaged my mother in law flipped a switch. She went from being nice and sweet to bitchy and passive aggressive. It’s so awful dealing with her that I have to drink when I’m around her to deal. Anyone had a similar experience? She completely tainted my entire wedding with her behavior. It’s a losing battle to talk to my husband about it because he can’t help but decent her.

Hi all! Does anyone have any advice/resources on how to prep for business intelligence roles interviews? For example, data analytics/viz quesions (not necessarily coding on spot but explain how I would approach a data related request). So far I have been answering based on my work experience, but want to do a more systematic prep if possible

I am a fresher. Have 3 months experience. About to get terminated cuz i couldn't clear an assessment. Worked on a full stack application during my training. Shall I tell the interviewers of my upcoming interviews that i have been terminated? Also, does this training experience count as work experience and will it be an advantage for me during interview ?

Just completed two years at D. Joined as an SC after MBA now an M. Cumulative earning in this period was 470k - base + bonuses + tuition + retention. I’d say that’s not bad. I even enjoy the work and am aligned with some partners that do some cool work. That said, my main goal is to make $ and I feel I’m now going to fall behind folks in other firms. I can manage bad WLB for another 5/6 yrs and I enjoy consulting. I think I need to move to another firm. Thoughts on my next steps given my goals?
