Considering taking a second IT job in a completely different industry/role and their benefits are substantially better than my current. Can you be a guarantor on two health insurance policies? (USA) my only concern is if I decide to quit my primary and focus on the new role, I would lose benefits since I missed new hire enrollment.

I have no experience with over employment. But I do have 15+ health insurance exp. Yes you can be the subscriber on two different health insurance policies. Also, losing coverage is a qualifying life event and would allow you to enroll outside the new hire window with your 2nd job. You just need a letter from the previous employer stating what kind of coverage you had (ex. medical) and when it ended. How you came about that coverage (ex. through a family member, a second job, govt program) is irrelevant.

I was recently (in April) fired from a good nursing position that I was at for 5 years. I reached out to my old ADON to get some information on where we had our vaccinations from and she told me that I should come back and the administrator that I had issues with is gone. Is this something I should even consider? I miss my patients and some of my coworkers and the pay is better, but I don't feel like I would really be welcome to come back.

BIA Briefs: I’m an associate at an immigration law firm. I determined that immigration isn’t for me So I gave the managing partner my 2 weeks. He wants me to wrap up some BIA briefs before I leave however I’m reviewing the record for a lot these and I’m seeing that a lot of the arguments for Asylum, Withhold, and CAT are incomplete. How I’m going to argue that the IC abused its discretion or misapplied the law when we made a facially insufficient argument for relief?

My offer letter mentions probation of 3 months. Is this normal for a Canadian company?

“Job hopper” and “quiet quitting” are all schemes made up by boomers to make you think everything is the employees fault. When in reality people are just getting out of bad situations. Except our generation will just leave amid we’re being mistreated, not complain for 35 years making 50k and 0 advancement.

Additional Posts in Overemployed

I really want to get a second job but I am scared of losing my current one. Both companies are in same field, although not direct competitors so I know it’s technically “not allowed” however, this is the only way for me to get that $$ since I am not paid all that well.

Of course I won’t tell a single friend/coworker. Only my partner. And I don’t post work stuff on social media.

Realistically what are the ODDS of being caught? Is there a legal/HR process with which they could find out??

Ok, I’m in. What are the salaries of some of the jobs you guys are doing, and the daily demands (hours and typical time of day you need to be “online”)? Are we talking working 2 90k jobs or the second job is a $35k data entry side gig?

I wish I was overemployed. Searching for gigs, but nothing yet. Any tips on how to get one or more extra jobs?

I’ve been on the bench with J1 for about 3 months. I was worried that because I couldn’t find another project, I would get laid off so I found J2, which pays more, is very meeting heavy, but I really like. I’ve kept J1 because I’m still on the bench doing absolutely nothing and getting paid. Thinking about looking for a role on a project with J1 that’s not along my career path but will allow for me to do work with no calls so that I can manage both jobs. Does anyone have experience or advice?

like

Currently have J1 as current employer used The work one for my BC. I looked at Equifax/ The work one to see if J2 uses that service, fortunately they don’t.
Question - if J2 runs a BC for J1 and Finds out I am still employed isn’t that a red flag?

The first rule of overemployment is dont talk about overemployment to anyone outside your house. :). Second: always protect the main job. Third: As the main job always has the priority, the Second and third jobs must preferably be contract gigs with not too many meetings everyday. Remember: another day, another dollar.
