Thoughts on cover letters and emailing/messaging hiring managers or recruiters? How effective is it really to do these things? Sometimes I get responses when I do all of the above, but I also get responses when I do none of the above. So I’m torn on what my strategy should be.

I took a temporary job as an attorney advisor at the SBA this past fall b/c it offered a regular paycheck, and my solo practice was suffering b/c of the pandemic. I like the work. I like working from home. Anyone have any insight into the possibility of this temp job becoming permanent. Did the SBA hire you permanently when your temp position ended? How did that happen?

I’ve met with many people, performed lots of research, presentations, etc. several discussions with senior leadership with enthusiastic support. How do I close this? It’s gone on so long.

Just started a new role and 2 weeks in my manager wants me to take over an 86 slide deck and is acting like it’s no problem! On my own! Am I crazy or how does she expect me to do this :( I am a senior now, but I’m also busy trying to learn the environment and simply getting access to all the things I need. She also tacked on two smaller projects in my plate… and the onboarding material was very bleak. If my old manager hadn’t connected me I’d quit tomorrow, I don’t get paid enough for this.

Currently at a small agency no one has really heard of, with solid opportunity to grow, can get promoted in another 6ish months to a year to a role making roughly 80k. If I get an offer for a lower position from one of the more well-known agencies, should I take it? The bigger agency pays better as a whole, but again, I’d be going one spot lower on the totem pole. If I get promoted there in a year I’d be making around 70, but my resume would “look” better in theory. What would you do?

Currently working as a risk and due diligence research associate for a GRC firm and I am relatively new in the industry. I identified some research areas in the field where I would like to do a Phd in. Was wondering if having a Phd particularly in the research segment of the industry is common, or would it just be an overkill?

I am working on a NFOA for a design case. The Examiner identified a primary references and four secondary references. The Examiner also pointed out five differences between the primary reference and the claimed design. For the reply, I found nine additional differences between the claimed design and the primary reference, two of which are not present in any of the cited references. Should I clarify the level of a designer having ordinary skill in the art first? Complex/Expensive article. TY!

What should be expected CTC for ACCOUNT TRANSITION MANAGER role with 15+ experience?
