Move dilemma:
Currently @ Arthur D. Little Limited Dubai as SE Manager w/ base comp of 285k $ + 10-15% bonus. Vert limited fit w/ people & projects in the region (MEI) & not motivated by seniors. Not happy w/ the job but good WLB. Very likely to promote to Pr which would include a 20-30% jump in total comp but shift to more variable
Move to MBB as PL. Projects & people are supposed to be great and he could see himself in the long run. Comp is 170k $ + 60% bonus. Will take 1.5y to move to Pr

It isn’t having an mba per se that helps. It’s what consulting roles pay 200k+ and how to access those roles given your current background. Often an mba is the access point people use to open the door to those roles. Depends on stage of career as well
This 💯

Will reach 200k in a year or two (180k rn). No MBA. Joined Big 4, didn’t get fired, switched firms, boom.
Nope, don't have one, don't intend to. I earn well over $300k. Some schmuck joined my team recently and has MBA in his title, can barely do the work required, only talks fluff.. I don't put my PhD in my title. 🫠
Pretty much 100% of consultants from top 10 programs make over $200k, bankers and folks at Amazon will also clear this
Nope and have my undergrad engineering degree from a state school.

No MBA. Currently make around 260.
I don’t even have a college degree and I make right at $400k.
(Not a joke)
Respect 🫡
I make $125k 2 1/2 years of experience, went to the most basic SUNY school and then got a masters (not MBA) at a private institute but not even close to an elite one. I think I will have no trouble making 200k in the near future, my performance is good and I will keep getting experience. An MBA from a top 10 will help open doors if you have literally no other way of doing it yourself but I think experience and honestly being good in interviews is really important - if you have these qualities you can prob do it without an mba
Yes, No
OP b-school isn’t required, just a good way to get access to OCR if you went a different path post undergrad
Tier 2 (OW, Strategy&, EYP, LEK) and MBB will get easily get you to 200k+ 2 years post undergrad or immediately after b-school
Big 4/ACN (not including strategy arms)- 200k+ is doable without b-school , but will take more time at the M or SM level
Ah Kearney should be there and at the very top of the Tier 2 list and probably the closest to Tier 1 haha
Yes, top 10 MBA. Had 5 yoe upon starting.
Nurse, you ask if a degree has to be top 10 or "halfway decent". Imo, you should take a top 25 or bust approach. ROI of an MBA starts falling noticeably after rank 15, and sharply after 25-30. And even then, top 15 degrees are recognized on a national scale, and the others more locally.

Close to 200k. Undergrad from no name school. Best performer in my practice. Schools don't mean much
Yes, top 5
What your years of experience and total compensation?
Yes MBA, no to top 10. Top 25 program
Chief
Yes, MBA. Top 15.
Nope, hell don’t even a degree from American school.
Yes
Well the top firms which pay that much hire more from top 10. Not required but definitely makes it easier to get here
Yes
Wouldn’t be at BCG otherwise
Rising Star
Yes,yes
Do you find it necessary to go to a top 10? Or just get it from a half decent school?
No but PhD from Stanford
Pro
In your fellowship, did you account for variable change?
