CPA and in the middle of an MBA program. 10+ yrs of experience on tax ( Partnership, S-corp, Trust & Individuals)

I want to get out of tax. Maybe targeting FP&A or any accounting/tax-related products companies. Is it hard to switch? Or any suggestions?

I don't like my current WLB and how toxic the environment is.

But need to raise young kids, so $ is also important.

Hard to pivot out of Tax unless your MBA is M7. maybe T15. You can look into tax consulting at a mid tier company so the WLB is better

I feel burnt out by how ruthless the tech industry in US is, but I also know I’m making much more money than people outside of tech or consulting.

How do you adjust your WLB?
I’m so burnt out that I wish I could yell at people who were not kind or supportive to me, but those people often unfortunately were in position of power.
I don’t like unkindness, but my anger is just very bottled up…
What can I do to stay level-headed even when the other side is disrespectful?

I’m a first year litigation associate and have felt depressed for the past six months largely due to work. I landed what has been my dream job for years - a position at a music law firm - despite having no experience in the industry and no transactional background. My parents think I am committing career suicide by leaving Big Law so soon and working with non Ivy Leaguers. I think I’ve landed a once in a lifetime opportunity and can swing the pay cut since I have no student debt. Thoughts?
