Yea bc making 6 figures there is different than making 6 figures in a different part of the country. Just saying that 6 figures is mostly due to cost of living in NYC. While 6 figures else where is due to experience and education
Which firm? Starting is usually 80K starting in NYC.
Two years in at ~90
In my second year (24) with the firm. Based out of SF and anticipate breaking 100k in the next cycle. But like it was mentioned six figures in SF/NYC does not carry anywhere near the same amount of weight as it would elsewhere
This thread makes me sad. I worked in industry until I was 30, didn't break 70k until I went into consulting. I didn't live in NYC, so it's not the same. But still ...
It just means we are going to plateau faster on our base salaries A2.
At BCG in your 3rd year
100k by age 25 or 26 in NYC (it also depends on your performance raises and if you really want to fast track it, you jump ship and ensure a good pay bump)
Where do you live?
NYC. Does that matter a lot?
D1 is that with the average raise? I'm assuming you must be a rockstar considering average raises are meager 3-5%.
Year or two after your first promotion at most of our firms if you last that long.
No. Above average not rock star level . Do you get a bonus? That also changes things. 3 years for bonus at Deloitte.
I'm a bit below 95 after 2 years, started right below 70. Raises have been killer the past few years.
Didn't get the top performance rating in either cycle
A lot of it can depend on service line tbh, I'm aligned to financial services so we get a premium
Just wrapping up my first year and I'm about to break six figures in a few weeks. Made a lateral move to another firm right to Consultant level from analyst.
Elsewhere in the country, ~4-5 years.
Including bonus I just broke six figures at 26 from around the same starting point.
