Same amount of experience, but making 95K in TX. That sounds extremely underpaid for NYC, especially for a supervisory role.
I don’t what other people are saying but you are severely underpaid for 4 years of experience in NY. The pay has increased a lot in past three years, mine jumped about 50%. I would say you should be around 120K and Manager title should put you at 130K minimum. Even discounting the fact that you are at mid tier or smaller firm, you should be making at least 110K right now.
Based on the promotion timeline, you can either wait for promotion and then leave or start looking and leave once something good comes around.
Interesting so I'll push for something between 115-120 for this upcoming comp discussion. If I don't get it I guess it's time to look elsewhere
Not sure what is meant by supervisor, but 4.5 years as a tax senior, I would think 95-110k if at B4. Mid tier you're probably in the 90-100k range.
Don’t know what 4.5 means. I’d call you 4 because that’s when your last raise would be. In NYC you should be pushing 100k at our firm in tax.
I'm a senior working at a NYC firm making 115k with 2.5 years of experience, yes, you're underpaid. In your position, I personally would go for the manager title and 150k.
I’m just about to hit 4 years of experience and making 110k in the NY metro area

I'm in tax in NYC, almost 3 YOE, and making 118k. You are getting ripped off. Let me know if you want a referral to Tax consulting. Less compliance and more building processes.
The difference is consulting, compliance is usually paid less than consulting / advisory roles
