Curious to know what associate/consultant level compensation is in MBB or Big 4 in 2 locations: Tokyo vs Singapore
Anyone exited to contract consulting? Thoughts on availability of work, hourly rate increases, longterm network building? Trying to decide if the wlb would be worth leaving, as I have health insurance through spouse.
For any single gals who have made the transition from biglaw salary to 5-figure govt, how did you manage the huge financial change on your own? I’m in a high COL city and rent alone could take up most of my paycheck. I’m fortunate to be debt free with some savings, but it’s still giving me heartburn!
Level unlocked - A big4 partner who interviewed and grilled me for 45 mins said 'It doesn't feel like an interview cos I wasn't able to make you feel uncomfortable' Why am I posting this here - Motivation, fwiw. 4/5 months ago I was probably the most awkward, anxious non native interviewer. Got a McK interview, practiced like never before, failed the final round due to anxity/casing eff ups. Although I failed, gained lot of confidence and have been flying thru tier 2/b4 interviews since.
Microsoft CE salary for dc area?
On salary bowl. Ask for level, gender, $$$, exp for various social peeps. Associate says this 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
Rant: apply for job online. Job emails me with 7 questions as "next steps", one of which is salary. I email back. They email back (at 9pm mind you) "we can't meet your salary expectations"...
Joining as a Senior Consultant to Big 4. My PPT skills are limited. How do I make up for this skill gap? Any resources you would recommend?
Has anybody made the switch from Big 4 consulting to MBB? What was the interview process like, and how did you prepare?
Can we make an exit opportunity matrix. Level in consulting + firm, by potential exit opportunity (include role type + salary)
UPDATE FROM PREVIOUS POST: I was offered a ~10% jump to go from B4 to top 10 acct firm transaction services with no signing bonus. Tf? The jump doesn’t include my B4 raise coming in like a month. So basically no jump considering everything and no signing bonus to go from audit to FDD. Kinda disappointed but oh well can always keep auditing.. is it even worth trying to negotiate up? I was hoping for at least 20% increase on top of my upcoming raise
Anybody know base + commission/target salary for an account executive at Netsuite? I am expecting an offer tomorrow. 5 YOE. TIA!
Has anyone left for a local firm and bounced back to top 10/big 4 or top 10? I've been interested in working at a local firm for some time, have an opportunity, but want the opportunity to get back to something larger if I learn I hate it.
Anyone know of or is currently at TCS that can speak to the culture and experience there? I’m currently at a Big 4 and had a recruiter reach out to discuss interviewing at TCS.
Interesting read about folks who won’t take vaccines. Lots of different rationales, but they all boil down to people thinking they’re smarter than experts (a common problem in modern America) and a general “you can’t tell me what to do” attitude. https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2021/05/the-people-who-wont-get-the-vaccine/618765/
*Financial Services forensics/AML/Sanctions/etc Consultants* what certifications (beyond CAMS and CFE) do you have/are you thinking about getting?
Which non-SWE roles are worth it at FAANG in terms of pay? Will any pay better than MBB?
This is a long shot but wondering if anyone has experienced this. I just changed to H1B status last Oct and my bank mailed me recently after tax filing deadline (I have filed tax in time using H&R block) asking me to fill out W9 if I am a resident alien / another form if I am not. This has never happened in previous years. Does it mean I missed a form using H&R block or is it related to the status change…?
Hi Eric! What are your thoughts on how consulting firms can do better on racial and gender diversity in the workplace? What are tactical things that leadership teams can do to support their staff?
What do you look for when interviewing a junior associate (2-3 year) for an in-house associate counsel position? What are your expectations with respect to substantive knowledge? I have some interviews for associate counsel positions at some later-stage startup tech firms and would love some advice on how to stand out from all the other biglaw junior associates.
Just getting started with Healthcare Consulting projects after working mostly on FS clients. Does anyone have reccomendations to ramp up on Healthcare/payer/provider knowledge quickly?
I wish there were a way for us to offer up our vacant apartments to healthcare workers from other states who are willing to temporarily relocate to nyc to help. Yhoughts on feasibility?
Would you choose an investment job at a private, partner-owned long only fund where you’re guaranteed to never lose your job& can be a multimillionaire; or at a very top L/S HF where the bottom performers are fired each year, but you could make multimillions in a good year? Another related q, would you forego the offer at the first place to potentially get the offer at the second place, knowing it’s very competitive? Assume you’re target background, at another top fund, good work ethics
I have 10 years combined experience in Comms and Marketing. I plan to transition into Product Marketing. I am considering a role for a Product Marketing Specialist at FAANG. What are expected salary ranges for an L5 or L6? Lots of data for Product Managers and Product Marketing Managers, but I'm assuming "Specialist " is a step below management
What % of your 401K contribution does your employer match? Trying to get some benchmarking ideas, thanks
I find it really hard to drink water but drink ton of Gatorade. Is this going to hurt my health?
Hi all, I really need some advice here, I have the feeling our company has gone a bit overboard in uploading policies. When someone starts, they have 30+ policies to read. I am a bit flustered and looking in other ways to reduce the number of documents to read, but still want everyone to be informed. Any suggestions/tips?
I got laid off and 3 weeks later a SC from HR sends me an email about an opening at the firm. Should I apply???
If my firm mandates the vaccine and I don’t provide proof, do they have to pay me severance when they fire me? FULL DISCLOSURE: I’m vaccinated, I just don’t want to work here anymore and I would like some extra $$$ 😂😂😂😂
What's the typical Senior associate salary range in PwC in Cyber Strat and Transformation?
Thinking of dropping my United Club card. Use it primarily for lounge access, but I also have a Corp Amex Platinum card which gets me into Centurion and partner lounges. Contd...
Someone want to explain how everyone in consulting can be this duped... we accept promotions for more responsibilities without knowledge of compensation... that literally doesn’t happen anywhere else. How dumb are we? Ps. I don’t count myself, I’ve never taken a promotion without jumping firms :) though plan on doing it next year - as SM
What does the Investor Relations career path look like for someone coming in at an early-ish level? I’ve heard it’s kind of dead-end and doesn’t really teach you any hard skills but pretty easy, especially if you can produce a decent track record of fundraising. Also, I’ve heard comp is ok and typically lower than consulting (and WAY lower than the investment teams…) and mostly concentrated among the top dogs. Accurate? Anyone know people who took this path?
Please help with your suggestions to this Depressed fish! 10 YOE and worked diligently with sub standard package relying on bosses alms without realised the exploitation until recently.
