Currently an experienced tax senior making $72k. Switching to a different tax group at another big four, what is a reasonably salary to expect / negotiate to?

In this market? I'd start at 95 and wouldn't hop laterally for less than 90 personally.

Also I guess this is extremely office dependent. Those numbers were NYC based.

Keep it simple, if moving laterally, 20% minimum is good. Only take less if it’s a career track you really want to get into.

Is a 20-25% increase reasonable? First year managers start around 100k in my city and I’d be coming in as a early senior (given the new tax group)

Sorry just realized I jumped the gun a bit and didnt consider market. Personally I think it would depend on your internal network right now and how you value it. I'd probably need 30%+ to justify losing the sponsors/mentors I have at my firm right now to do similar work.

What if my work will be different? Currently doing tax, but the work will be new that I don’t have the opportunity to do at my current firm. Trying to understand what a reasonable percentage / range I should expect from one big four to another

Thanks. Should I expect a signing bonus too, and if so, how much?
