Hey guys. I have been applying to Amex for the past 1 year. Tried applying on the portal, through referrals and even hr consultants reached me regarding the roles since I have a relevant profile. But not once have I been shortlisted or called for an interview. What could be the problem?
PS: I have gotten calls from every other company for the same profile but not amex. Can't be a problem with the profile. Seems something dicey which I'm not aware of.American Express

If you get CSR I would honestly get the Amex gold. Platinum really only gets you high points on flights, whereas CSR is larger “travel” and “entertainment” (including restaurants). Gold, however, gets you points on groceries and gas.
Groceries get 4x as well up to $25000 per year
I have Plat/CSR and think it’s a good combo. Diversified across points platforms.
I like the flexibility of having both points currencies. Gold earns 4x at restaurants instead of 3x, but I find UR points are generally worth a bit more than MR. Also you lose out on 3x for non-airfare travel, which is a substantial part of my spend.
If you are in the Amex ecosystem check out the Plat + Green combo. With the refreshed green it could make sense depending on your redemption patterns with amex vs. Chase
Gold gives 4x on dining + grocery whereas green is 3x on all dining + travel. Most consultants don't really cook that much, and the extra 1 pt/$ on dining isn't enough to justify giving up 3x on things like hotels, ubers, taxis, train...
