So just to clarify, I'm not at a point where more titles will get me the next promotion.
I'm doing those exams mostly for myself.
Just trying to see if people have insightful orderings and why they would suggest I go in their specified order.
Certifications help you get your foot in the door but imo you need someone who believes in you and would be willing to advocate for you, in order to get the type of position you sound like you want based on your “individual contributor” comment. Unless you want to stick it out in one area and see where it goes. Network, work on your soft skills, take stretch assignments, volunteer, and show someone your are more than just a really smart individual.
Honestly I feel like measuring career success by the management of others is kind of silly. I feel like if you could make great money and only worry about yourself a lot less stressful lol
What are your career aspirations?
I actually don't have any. Or rather, if I were to talk about my next goal, it is, unfortunately, unrelated to those certifications. I doubt getting more certifications will lead to me going further in my career.
I'm doing those mostly for myself. Just trying to see if I'm able to get more takes on which I should start with. 😜
I’m working on CAIA , If you have the time I think the letters will never hurt. It does not prove you know more then anyone else, but it does show that you had the interest / time management / and follow up to get them done. I have never seen it hurt anyone career
I like the FRM - I think things with more focus on packaged products is a little more useful for a non banker ( honestly for an Econ single securities eval may be more useful then packages haha)
