Currently in biglaw in NYC. I live on LI and am getting ready to jump ship. Going to look for something less demanding and more local. How big of a pay cut can I expect? Senior associate with about 10 years of experience in a somewhat niche area.

My prior firm was allegedly one of the highest paying on LI. Eighth year associates made 230k base.

I was at Berkman Henoch

Hi everyone, I'm new to Canada and want to start my career here in the Financial and Banking industry. I have passed the CFA level 2 exam and was wondering if I have to complete the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) as most of the job postings here mention about it. I saw that if someone passes at least the CFA level 1 exam then the requirement of CSC is exempted. Can anyone enlighten me about this? As the CSC exam costs above 1000 CAD, I wanted to be sure if I need it before investing behind it.

I need help figuring out if I’m being underpaid. I’m working in real estate private equity and I focus on fund models and property valuations. I’m currently at base $80k and 20% bonus. On top of that I have 5 years experience and a masters in finance. I’m good at my job and receive positive reviews from everyone. I feel like I should be compensated better but the company says that’s what they think I’m worth. Any help or insights would be great!

I had been through some interviews with a variety of potential employers, but did not get any job offers. I was wondering why (of course, HR would not tell me). We have motion sensor lights in my office and the sensor is far from my desk. Consequently, if I'm on a long WebEx, the lights go out and it's embarrassing. The building won't change the sensor.
