Currently in tech consulting at big 4. Want to switch to MBB. What skill set should I be aiming to build before I apply ?

Starting to get more involved in the project sales process - any recommendations for books or resources to develop skills in this area?

What are your thoughts on the Scrum Master role? I’ve worked with a few now and out of 5 of them, only 1 seemed to be of any help. Most of the time we have to explain every detail multiple times and they still don’t understand what we’re doing. I feel that the role should be reserved for employees with experience in the systems they work in.

Hello Fishes, Can someone confirm what should be the grade and designation in HCL for around 17 years of experience?

Working on some law firm applications tonight and it sucks that I know that I am so capable and have a strong work ethic but firms can’t see beyond grades or the fact that I didn’t go to a t14 law school or prestigious undergrad. I’ve worked twice as hard and feel like I’ve barely even gotten half as much. It’s discouraging sometimes especially because I worked so hard with pretty much no guidance (first gen, poc, low-income) to get into college and do well and then get into a t30 law school

Just over 6 years in B4 financial services tax in PNW area. Mostly doing compliance work pumping out K1s and returns. Just got an industry offer at 155k 15% bonus and 100k equity (4year vesting). Fully remote position with occasional travel. Should I accept? I know it's a long shot but deep down I always had an ambition to pursue PA to see if I can make a partner. Please share your experience.

What are valid reasons to switch from Tier 2 to mbb? Valid in terms that they will help me during the interviews?
Personal reason for me would be reputation and client attractiveness. Also more interested in revenue-side consulting compared to mainly doing back office optimization currently. Is the latter one legit to tell in interviews or too harsh about current employer?

It’s something I actively work on, but I still have no concrete sense of how long I should spend on basic tasks (e.g., drafting a motion to dismiss). My firm is right to expect that I manage my time better as a mid-level associate. WFH has made my time management worse.
