Bain & Company Can someone recommend a good starting point on how to go around solving case interviews? What frameworks should I follow? I am kinda new to case interview and want to develop skills to solve them. Any books, online sources would be really appreciable. I've been trying to get into healthcare PE. Swap positions with me, OP!! 😂
Op, what city you looking for?
Is this the same VP that talked about making bank now and hating it? What makes u wanna go back to consulting?
BCG2, can u refer me also lol
Lol
Network, network, network.
It's $29.99 a month, I only recently upgraded because now I'm serious about pursuing something. It's not much but I also did get reached out to by recruiters, immediately after the upgrade. I guess it just depends on how serious you are about pursuing a job and willing to network. Wish I had done it earlier and not waited until I was ready to move on.
Better to get on the ball earlier than later I suppose. Thanks again OP!
Who told me to reach out to recruiters in LA. 4 LinkedIn messages to recruiters in LA and no response. Can anyone help me out? Drinks or coffee on me if you can meet in person!
Los Angeles is where I am located but I'm flexible on relocation.
Yes, same VP! I miss the diversity of projects and teams, I miss the travel, I miss the almost unlimited networking and social environment. I miss the fact that you are essentially evaluated by your billable hours, which demonstrates competency. I miss the extracurricular opportunities within consulting. I can keep going but that's a large part of it.
Tbh billable hours don't really matter at BCG - unless there's a serious gap- until principal/ partner level or if you're take up the expert role/path
Good to know... The point I was trying to make is that if you're good and you have motivated attitude, you'll be staffed more and thus have a higher billable rate; whereas in my company right now, it's all about politics and talking yourself up, and nothing to do with work product.
OP how do I get into Healthcare PE
Fair enough.
Honestly, like what I'm doing now. Put yourself out there. Upgrade LinkedIn to premium and send a couple messages out a month. Ask to buy them coffee or drinks to learn more about their area. Attend healthcare conferences... I.e. JPM healthcare. Be a little stalker-ish.
I appreciate it OP. Always wondered if LinkedIn Premium was worth it. Consultant now. Think I should wait till Post MBA?
I hear you OP - best of luck!
